The Kilimanjaro Hotel in Dar es Salaam, known fondly as ‘The Kili’, is a popular landmark in the city, a reminder of the region'’s elegant colonial heritage and a favoured meeting place of locals and visitors alike. The hotel has recently been totally rebuilt and re-opened in August 2005. It was then known as Kilimanjaro Kempinski Hotel. In August 2011, Hyatt Regency took over management of the hotel.
All 180 guest rooms and suites are elegantly appointed with tropical interiors, rich timber floors and brightly accented fabrics, reflecting the colours of Africa and its people. All rooms have an ensuite bathroom with bath and shower. Rooms are equipped with high speed and wireless internet access, international satellite LCD TV with movie channels, multilingual telephone voicemail, CD/DVD player, tea and coffee making facilities, in room safe and mini-bar, 24-hour room service, laundry/dry-cleaning service, bathrobes, shoe shine service, make-up mirror and hairdryer and a deluxe range of bathroom amenities. Rooms have large picture windows with views of the city or sea.
The hotel features a choice of dining. 'The Oriental' serves fine Asian cusine while 'The Palm' offers international dining with a la carte and buffet options. Flame Tree Lounge has an outdoor terrace where guests can enjoy snacks and light lunches. Level 8 bar has wonderful pananoramic views of the harbour and Citrus Bar serves a range of drinks, smoothies and ice teas by the pool.
The Anatara Spa offers a range of bath and steam treatment in 6 dedicated rooms. There are also saunas, a beauty salon and a gym. The outdoor infinity pool has fine views of the harbour.
