About Sayari Camp

  • Close Panel

Sayari Camp is situated at a fantastic site on the Mara River in a remote and unspoilt area of the northern Serengeti, one of Africa's best kept secrets! Sayari Camp is ideally located to witness the great migration between August and November across the Mara River, weather depending, but is great all year round offering excellent game viewing by vehicle and on foot.

The camp is personal and original and is divided into 2 wings, one with 9 tents and one with 6. Each wing has its own bar and lounge tent so that the areas can be self-contained. Each tent is very spacious and has sliding galss dorrs leading its own veranda complete with comfy chairs, an ideal place from which to enjoy the beautiful views of the Serengeti. Inside are comfortable king-sized beds, beautiful traditional fabrics and contemporary furniture. The en-suite bathrooms have flush toilets, a double basin, bathtub and shower - all done in an environmentally-friendly way. In addition there is one suite, ideal for honeymooners or guests wanting a little more privacy, complete with private butler and two rock baths, one indoor and one outside.

The camp's central area has a large comfortable lounge with a bar. The 2 'chill-out' areas make ideal places to relax and enjoy the peaceful setting. There is also a rock swimming pool.

Great food - a fusion of authentic African and nouvelle European cuisine - is served to compliment the atmosphere in this idyllic bush retreat.

Sayari offers game drives in this relatively untouched and little-visited area. The wildlife is plentiful and includes wildebeest, zebra, big cats, elephant, giraffe, crocdile and hippo, so that even outside the migration, the game viewing is excellent. Early morning and late afternoon walking safaris are also popular.

Pricing guidelines for Tanzania

  • Open Panel

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £600 to £800 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). Tanzania can combine easily with other East African countries.

For each accommodation on this website you will find an indication of the price. The bands are based on the price per person per night at peak season and are represented by the following values for this country:
