Lake Manyara Serena Safari Lodge stands high above Lake Manyara and commands panoramic views across the volcano-studded floor of the Great Rift Valley.
It has 67 en-suite rooms, 4 rooms to each circular, thatched cottage. The rooms are quite standard and simple, though the furnishings are quite vibrant. There are mosquito nets around the beds, a stand fan, plus safe and smoke alarm. The bathroom has a shower.
The circular dining room which seats 150 has outstanding views over the floor of the Great Rift Valley. Striking murals in the open-air bar area feature avian-inspired frescoes, and there are colourful Maasai artifacts and a unique domed basketwork ceiling.
Facilities at Lake Manyara Serena Safari Lodge include laundry, valet, babysitting, and children's menus and internet connectivity. A nurse is on call 24 hours a day. Beauty treatments and massage are available, and there is a gift shop and swimming pool. Rooms have battery charging facilities and there is 24hr mains electricity.
The dramatic ‘vanishing horizon' pool, which has received significant architectural acclaim, lies below the lodge, on the very edge of the escarpment with glorious views across the lake and the Great Rift Valley.
