Down to Earth: Tanzanian Wildlife Adventure

Get off the beaten track and explore the classic wildlife parks of Northern Tanzania with this camping safari lead by very experienced local guides and using very lightweight tents making it easy to move camp and make the most of your time sightseeing and game viewing.

The itinerary changes between dry and green season, as the movement of wildlife means that in the dry season, Tarangire National Park is well worth a visit with huge herds of elephant congregating there but in the green season, grass is very high in Tarangire, so this is replaced with Lake Manyara which has good game viewing year round.

Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Crater are good all year and although they are always busy, popular areas, the wildlife is prolific and you are pretty much guaranteed to see elephants, lions, giraffe, hippo, zebra and many more species.

This is one of Tribes' Down to Earth holidays. This is a great range of more affordable, set itinerary holidays, as opposed to our tailor made trips. The Down to Earth holidays also have their own website where you will find lots more details about each trip.

Pricing guidelines for Tanzania

  • Open Panel

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £600 to £800 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). Tanzania can combine easily with other East African countries.

For each accommodation on this website you will find an indication of the price. The bands are based on the price per person per night at peak season and are represented by the following values for this country:
