West Kilimanjaro is ideal for those that want an African safari where you get out of the vehicle and experience pristine African bush. Itineraries involve camping (either fly camping or basing yourself at the luxury base camp) in remote areas of the bush and walking through the savannah with your guide who will help you spot game and teach you a little about traditional
Maasai life. If on trek, while you are walking, the camp staff go ahead with the equipment carried by donkeys, and each camp is prepared before your arrival. You will have the opportunity to meet the Maasai in their homeland and spend time with a local Maasai who will be your guide.
