Kilimanjaro Discovery Tour - The Machame Route

Join our Africa travel consultant, Tracy, on this 8-day discovery tour of Mount Kilimanjaro. Climb Kilimanjaro via the Machame Route on this adventure of a lifetime.

Tracy has wanted to climb Kilimanjaro for ages, and she now feels ready for the challenge.  It's a tough climb, but it's not technical, ie you don't need climbing tackle and ropes and so on.  All (!) you have to do is walk slowly so the altitude doesn't get you too much as you go higher, keep focussed on your goal and keep positive.  And of course you'll be walking through some incredible, awe-inspiring scenery, and you will have excellent guides and porters who have done this many many times before. They will definitely keep you going, and look after you by putting up your tents and feeding you good energy meals each day.

It's really nice to share this kind of experience with others, so if you fancy the Kilimanjaro challenge, why not join Tracy in June?   You need about 3-4 months to get fit ideally, though many people do it on much less training than that.

You can of course simply do this for yourself, but you could also consider doing this for a charity of your choice.

Let Tracy know if you're interested in joining her.  Call her for a chat on 01728 685971.

8-day tour, starting June 24, 2012

Pricing guidelines for Tanzania

  • Open Panel

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £600 to £800 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). Tanzania can combine easily with other East African countries.

For each accommodation on this website you will find an indication of the price. The bands are based on the price per person per night at peak season and are represented by the following values for this country:
£

  £50 to £150
