About Zanzibar Palace Hotel

  • Close Panel

Zanzibar Palace Hotel is a 9 room boutique hotel set in a restored Zanzibari palace in the heart of Stone Town, just a short walk from the sea front. The hotel is tastefully and authentically decorated in a mixture of Arabian, English and Indian designs, incorporating antique furniture, Persian rugs and colourful silks. The hotel nonetheless has modern conveniences such as air conditioning, free wifi and ensuite bathrooms.

All the bedrooms are individually decorated and unique in design. A strong mix of Arab and Indian influence is evident in the architecture and its spacious rooms are decorated in true Zanzibari style with colours and furnishings including majestic beds, lattice work shutters and well equipped bathrooms. There are 2 luxury rooms, 5 suites and 2 large palace suites on the third floor with wonderful views. One of these has an open air bathroom and sundeck. All rooms are air conditioned and have ceiling fans, mosquito nets, in-house 'phone, TV, DVD player, safe and bathrobes.

The hotel has a restaurant which serves a generous buffet breakfast each morning and a choice of dishes for lunch and dinner. Fresh seafood is a speciality (tuna, kingfish, prawns and lobster) but meat and vegetarian fare is also offered. The 'Sukinah' bar and lounge is great place to relax over a drink and enjoy a chat with fellow guests. Other facilities include a DVD library, board games, 24 hour room service, laundry and a tourist information corner. The hotel is owner run and the helpful staff can speak English, French, German or Dutch.

There is a spa where guests can relax after a day's sightseeing and enjoy soothing treatments invcluding wraps, facials and massages. There is also a hot rain shower.

Excursions can be arranged to sites around Zanzibar. Many of Stone Town's best known sites are in walking distance from the hotel.

Pricing guidelines for Tanzania

  • Open Panel

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £600 to £800 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). Tanzania can combine easily with other East African countries.

For each accommodation on this website you will find an indication of the price. The bands are based on the price per person per night at peak season and are represented by the following values for this country:

  £50 to £150
