About Tindiga Tented Camp

  • Close Panel

Tindiga Tented Camp is a lovely tented camp in traditional style with thatched roofs over canvas sided en-suite rooms.

The camp is close to Qaund'ded Village where you are invited to visit the remote Hadzabe & Datoga tribes of this remote part of the Rift Valley. To the west of the camp you can see Mount Masumbuku. North is the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and the surrounding volcanoes. Beyond Lake Eyasi are the plains of the Serengti. Lake Eyasi itself is just 1.5km from the camp. The lake is a seasonal salt water lake that almost drys up in the dry season.

The rooms are cream in colour blending into the dry bushlands and are spacious with showers and flush toilets. There are just 10 rooms and soap, towels and bottled water are provided. Electric lights are inside your room and in the evenings, the camp is magically lit by traditional hurricane lamps along paths and around the tents. There is a cosy, rustic dining room and small bar and a 'boma' for outside dining too. There is a small plunge pool.

Activities here centre around getting out on foot, enjoying the rift valley scenery and look out points, bird watching and meeting the local tribes people. You can visit a local village and learn about onion agriculture too.

Pricing guidelines for Tanzania

  • Open Panel

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £600 to £800 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). Tanzania can combine easily with other East African countries.

For each accommodation on this website you will find an indication of the price. The bands are based on the price per person per night at peak season and are represented by the following values for this country:
£

  £50 to £150
