Serengeti Mara is a stunning new camp which is part of 'AfrikaAfrika' run by extremely experienced and passionate owner-guides who have been brought up in Tanzania and have an affinity with the people and land of the country.
A small, seasonal tented camp, Serengeti Mara is perfectly placed for the best game viewing July - October, being the only camp north of the Mara river in Northern Serengeti. It's location in the 'Lamai wedge' is perfect for a combination of wildlife and community experiences.
The closest airstrip is Kogatende in the far north of the park. This area in the Lamai Wedge borders the Masai Mara eco system. The camp has open sided land rovers for game viewing (unless you are with one of our tailor made vehicles from Arusha) and private vehicles can be requested. Full day drives with picnics are an option. Guided walks with a guide and ranger are possible.
There are seven tents in twin or double configuration and one guide tent. Each tent has a bucket shower and toilet, solar lighting and toiletries and insect repellents provided.
The camp is surrounded by acacia trees on Mihingu Hill looking over typical short grass plains. There is a dining and lounge area and a library of reference bookds. There is a fire pit for enjoying the night sky and pre and after dinner drinks.
The camp has a generator which only runs when guests are not in camp. There is battery power lighting and solar power in guest tents. Charging facilities are available. Water is from a bore hole or the river and is scarce. Drinks are usually included in the price.
