About Lake Manze Camp

  • Close Panel

Lake Manze Camp is in one of the richest areas for game in the whole Selous Game Reserve. The camp consists of 12 tents, all well spaced apart offering a degree of privacy and all with good views of the lake. The tents are 'meru style' canvas with double zip locking and mesh windows. Each tent has an en-suite bathroom with flush toilet and hot shower and is furnished with twin or double beds. The tents are spacious, with a comfortable veranda to watch the animals passing by.

Frequent visitors to the lake include hippos, crocodiles, elephants, herons and many more. The spacious sitting areas offer relaxation for guests and overlook the lake, so are good for game viewing. Meals are taken in the thatched lodge during the day and out under the stars in the evening. Private dinners on your own veranda can be arranged.

Game safaris are carried out in 4x4 vehicles which take a maximum of 4 guests and the drives are not limited to a specific schedule but tailor made to clients' wishes. Boat safaris are carried out in the calm waters of the lake. An early morning walk with an armed ranger is also available and a rewarding way to experience the beauty of the Selous.

Pricing guidelines for Tanzania

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £600 to £800 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). Tanzania can combine easily with other East African countries.

For each accommodation on this website you will find an indication of the price. The bands are based on the price per person per night at peak season and are represented by the following values for this country:
£

  £50 to £150

Lake Manze Camp has a beautiful location right by a lake. When I visited in June, I was so lucky as Wild Dogs had built their den near to camp so I got sneaky peep at the new pups which was lovely and certainly not something you see every day! The camp is simple in design but very comfortable. There is no electricity on the tents which adds to the in-the-bush feel!
