    About Kirawira Tented Camp

    • Close Panel
Kirawira Tented Camp is a luxury tented camp situated near to the Grumeti River in the Western Corridor.  Perched on a hill with uninterrupted views of the plains of the Western Serengeti.  Kirawira Tented Camp has 25-luxury double tents set on a wooden platform.

Kirawira is an reincarnation of a Victorian tented camp and guests enjoy luxurious accommodation, a valet service and superb wine and cuisine, which can be prepared according to guest receipes or from the house.  Throughout the camp, native wood, African art and tented canvas are combined with typical Victorian and colonial furniture to recall a bygone era of explorers, pioneers and early colonial settlers. The tents are equipped with hot water showers, mini-bars and a private verandah overlooking the plains.

The Grumeti River is famed for its giant crocodiles and Kirawira Tented Camp is especially well located for the migration of wildebeest on their way back north to the Masai Mara.  The lush vegetation and Kirawira is home to a wide variety of bird life and large game, including lion, buffalo, cheetah, giraffe, baboon, gazelle and wildebeest.

There is a swimming pool, and activities include game walks and driving safaris, fishing and sailing on Lake Victoria (as an extra excursion to Mwanza) and bush lunches.

    Pricing guidelines for Tanzania

    • Open Panel

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £600 to £800 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). Tanzania can combine easily with other East African countries.

For a specific personal quote based on any tailor made itinerary you have in mind, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help you.
