Download PDF for Jongomero Camp
Set along the banks of the seasonal Jongomero river, in Ruaha National Park, southern Tanzania.
Game drives in open 4-wheel drive vehicles; all day drives with bush picnics; excellent birding.
The camp offers eight spacious ensuite tents on raised platforms with a private front veranda. The public dining and lounge areas are beautifully located in the deep shade of an ancient African Ebony tree with uninterrupted views of the Jongomero River bed. The natural rock pool is ideal for those long hot days.
Children aged 6 or over are welcome.
Closed mid-March until the beginning of June.
Tanzania's main rainy season runs from April until the beginning of June. There is also a short rainy season in November. Ruaha is good all year round though it is at it's best during the dry season, from July - October. For birding Ruaha is one of the best places to go in the whole of Africa during February.
Two game viewing activities per day.
Full board.
We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.
International flights will add from about £600 to £800 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). Tanzania can combine easily with other East African countries.
