    About Hatari Lodge

    • Close Panel

This lodge was leased by Paramount Pictures for the John Wayne film 'Hatari' hence the name today! In the 60's the property was a farm and in 2002 it became a lodge. Today its superb setting overlooking the plains and mountains of Northern Tanzania makes it a perfect place to start or end a Northern Circuit safari, or use as a base for Mt Meru climbs in Arusha National Park.  The decor is very 60's - 70's and totally unique and there is memorabilia everywhere marking the history of the property and the days of a bygone era of colonial Africa. There are 8 comfortably furnished rooms all with verandahs and a fireplace for the cool mountain nights.

    Pricing guidelines for Tanzania

    • Open Panel

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £600 to £800 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). Tanzania can combine easily with other East African countries.

For a specific personal quote based on any tailor made itinerary you have in mind, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help you.
