Gombe Tented Camp is a comfortable camp located in a prime position for tracking the famous chimpanzees of Jane Goodall and Gombe Stream National Park. The camp is located on the shores of Lake Tanganyika and each of the tents is set under shadey trees. The tents are made of heavy-duty canvas and are spacious and well-ventilated. They are set on raised wooden platforms and all have a private deck with views of the lake, a perfect place to enjoy a sundowner. Each tent has an ensuite hot shower and flush toilet. They are set well apart from each other to ensure privacy. The main building houses the library, information centre, curio shop, lounge and bar. Meals are hearty and delicious and include freshly caught fish and traditional African cuisine.
As well as chimp trekking and chimpanzee safaris other activities on offer here include nature walks in the national park, visits to nearby waterfalls, visits to local villages and swimming in the lake.
