About Hog Hollow Country Lodge

  • Close Panel

Hog Hollow is a 4-star lodge set on the edge of an indigenous forest in a private nature reserve with panoramic views of the surrounding forests, valleys and mountains, in one of the most beautiful parts of South Africa - the Garden Route. Each of the 15 suites in Hog Hollow has a private deck overlooking the wonderful views. King size beds, earthy tones, fireplaces, hammocks, ensuite bathrooms and hand-crafted artifacts are just a few of the comfortable touches that welcome guests to their private retreat. Rooms at Hog Hollow have mini bars and hifi equipment.

The Main House is the hub of Hog Hollow. There are three lounge areas and a communal dining area next to the swimming pool and a boma where nightly fires are lit. Other attractions include a forest sauna and privately sited forest shower with incredible views over the valley. Guests can enjoy outstanding cuisine, numerous activities and excellent hospitality. Meals are prepared using only the freshest of local produce. The set menu includes a selection of main course of which fish, prawns and crayfish are daily features. Hog Hollow particularly welcomes children, organising babysitting, special turn downs with a glass of fresh milk and a Gingerbread Man, children's stories and CDs, buckets and spades, boogie boards and special menus and meal times.

Pricing guidelines for South Africa

  • Open Panel

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £600 to £800 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). South Africa combines well with Botswana, Mauritius and Mozambique.

For each accommodation on this website you will find an indication of the price. The bands are based on the price per person per night at peak season and are represented by the following values for this country:
£

  £50 to £100

  £100 to £200

  £200 to £300

Situated in a peaceful location in the middle of nowhere, Hog Holloow is not for people who want to be the thick of things. Nicely presented rooms (apart from the honeymoon suite which I felt was smaller than the other rooms and quite dark). The villa is something special, very contemporary and it felt as though you're living in someone's house rather than a hotel. Hog Hollow is ideally located between Storms River adventure area and Plettenberg Bay so there are plenty of activities nearby.
