About Umlani Bushcamp

  • Close Panel

Umlani Bushcamp is a classic African safari camp located in the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, which forms part of the Greater Kruger National Park. Umlani Bushcamp offers an authentic wildlife experience in Big Five territory. Guests can view lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino, in over 24,000 acres of traversing area, also home to over 40 mammal species and 350 bird species. Umlani Bushcamp is renowned for award-winning cuisine and the outstanding Shangaan rangers and trackers, who not only find guests the game, but also introduce them to the wealth of flora, fauna, bird life and cultural heritage of the region.

Umlani Bushcamp accommodates 16 guests in traditional African reed and thatch huts. Each hut has en-suite facilities including an open-air bush shower fuelled by wood fires. The huts are comfortably fitted with white mosquito nets, crisp white linen and towels. Umlani's philosophy of simplistic luxury and 'getting back to nature' is enhanced by the romance of operating without electricity, so each hut and the entire camp is lit by candle light and oil lamps. When not on game drives, guests can relax in the spacious bush bar and deck overlooking the riverbed and watering hole or swim in the pool. For exclusive tranquillity there is a tree house about 2.5km from the camp overlooking a dam, where guests can be left for a while with blankets and big comfortable pillows as well as a cooler box with drinks.

Pricing guidelines for South Africa

  • Open Panel

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £600 to £800 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). South Africa combines well with Botswana, Mauritius and Mozambique.

For each accommodation on this website you will find an indication of the price. The bands are based on the price per person per night at peak season and are represented by the following values for this country:
