About Kapama Buffalo Camp

  • Close Panel

Kapama Buffalo Camp is situated in the Kapama Private Game Reserve located in the Limpopo Province, and forming part of the Greater Kruger Region. Occupying 13000 hectares of rolling savannah grasslands and riverine forests, Kapama is home to the famed ‘Big 5' (Lion, Elephant, Rhino, Buffalo and Leopard), along with many other mammal and bird species.

Buffalo Camp is a small, intimate camp offering a unique and rustic experience. There are only 8 luxury canvas tents set on wooden decks built on stilts over a steep-sided riverbed. Wooden walk ways connect each room and guest areas. Each tent has the usual comforts of electricity, en-suite bathroom, a safe, writing table, a wardrobe and tea/coffee facilities.

Surrounded by gardens of succulent aloes and euphorbia, the guest areas comprise of a thatched bar, dining room, swimming pool and a cosy campfire. The camp creates a lovely rustic feeling, and going to bed with the calls of lion and hyena close by completes the African experience.

Enjoy daily game drives throughout the reserve with an experience guide and tracker, who will do their very best to locate the animals and give the best experience possible. Bush walks are also offered and certainly recommend, and give you the chance to learn about the smaller species and flora and fauna.

Kapama Buffalo Camp will be closed from 01 May 2011 till 31 July 2011 for refurbishment.

Pricing guidelines for South Africa

  • Open Panel

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £600 to £800 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). South Africa combines well with Botswana, Mauritius and Mozambique.

For each accommodation on this website you will find an indication of the price. The bands are based on the price per person per night at peak season and are represented by the following values for this country:
