About Reed Valley

  • Close Panel

Reed Valley has been owned by the weeks family since 1898, previously having been owned by Dutch settlers. Many farming projects have taken place in Reed Valley over the years but now, with the fifth generation of the family, this forms part of an excellent conservation project in Amakhala Game Reserve with five other neighbouring family properties.

Reed Valley Inn has four en-suite country rooms which were once a stop off in safety for travellers on the mail wagon. Each room has a separate entrance and a private patio. There is a homely bar and lounge area and children of all ages are welcome. There is also a swimming pool.

Hearty breakfasts are served before you set off on morning game drives and dinners are a special treat with local foods served with great hospitality and fine wines. Rooms are serviced daily and there is a classic pub and swimming pool in addition to the private facilities. Your stay will be made special by friendly staff who will cater for your dietary and special needs and look after you with expert guiding while out on safari.

Reed Valley Bush Lodge is a small luxry retreat in the heart of the valley with spectacular views, the four rooms have canvas walls, thatched roofs and views over a waterhole. Each room has it's own private plunge pool. hot and cold air con, large oval bath and outdoor shower. The main building is home to a large lounge, dining area and bar with indoor and outdoor fires. Guests to the bush lodge check in at the reception at Reed Valley Inn and are then driven the 15 minutes to the Bush Lodge. This is a new lodge (opened December 2007).

Pricing guidelines for South Africa

  • Open Panel

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £600 to £800 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). South Africa combines well with Botswana, Mauritius and Mozambique.

For each accommodation on this website you will find an indication of the price. The bands are based on the price per person per night at peak season and are represented by the following values for this country:

  £50 to £100
