The Last Word Long Beach is set on the beach and all rooms have fantastic ocean views. This is a luxurious yet intimate hotel, with just 6 guest suites. The Last Word has a tranquil setting, so is ideal for long, relaxing days by the pool, yet is within easy reach of Cape Town's many attractions. It is set in the attractive fishing village of Kommetjie, known for its wonderful lobsters.
All guest rooms face the sea and are generously proportioned and immaculately furnished. Faciltiies include air conditioning, plasma TV, DVD player, internet access, 'phone, underfloor heating and heated towel rails. All have a large ensuite bathroom with separate bath and shower. Guests can relax in their own velour robes and slippers, while enjoying the views from the private balcony or patio, all of which look out over the beach. There is a complimentary minibar with drinks and snacks plus a tea and coffee tray. The 3 Premier Suites also have a separate lounge area.
The hotel has a solar-heated swimming pool and sundeck. There is a bar serving a full range of drinks. Spa treatments can be arrangedby the helpful staff, as can a variety of tours and excursions. A lavish breakfast is served overlooking the beach each morning. Lunch and dinner (possibly a delicious seafood braai) can be arranged on request. A chef is on call for special private dinners. Picnics can be prepared for guests to enjoy on the beach or further afield. The beach offers good swimming, surfing and boating.
Activities available in the area include horse riding - early morning and later afternoon rides along the beach. These can be enjoyed by experienced riders and beginners alike. Deep sea and shore fishing are popular and whale watching is a highlight in the months of July to November. The Last Word Long Beach is about a 45 minute car ride from Cape Town and al its attractions and about 30 minutes from Simonstown, False Bay and Cape Point.
