This is an excellent safari for getting an understanding of the wildlife of Kruger, and indeed even wider regions. It is a perfect family safari.
Your first stay is at a lovely camp which is next to Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilation Centre.
The Moholoholo Rehabilitation Centre is a well-known and successful centre for the rehabilitation of injured and orphaned wildlife and the breeding of endangered species. Moholoholo Rehabilitation Centre specializes in birds of prey but has a large number and variety of mammal species. This facility provides an encouraging insight into what is being done to ensure that injured, orphaned and endangered species have the best chance possible of surviving.
Not far from Moholoholo is the Blyde Dam. This is situated at the base of the Blyde River Canyon, providing a beautiful nature experience by boat. It is a great place to view the canyon from below, as well as visit the Kadishi Tufa Waterfall.
From here, you head into Kruger, firstly staying within a private concession area within Kruger, and then having some time within the National Park itself. These days are your chance to get a good look at the excellent wildlife within the park.
Your last stop is at the world renowned Jane Goodall Institute - home to chimpanzees that have been misplaced from their natural habitat. The JGI has made this tranquil venue their South African sanctuary and has committed itself to the rescue and care take of chimpanzees in need of refuge.
Being the 1st and only chimpanzee sanctuary in South Africa, this venue will be able to bring the world of chimpanzees closer to humanity through education, tourism and modern technology. Entering the reserve, a mere 15 km from the bustling city of Nelspruit, visitors can expect to be captivated by the beautiful bush surroundings with most of the natural game species roaming the reserve.
You can enjoy a guided tour for tour groups through Education hall, curios centre, and enclosure walkways, plus there is a 1 hour 30 minutes feeding time special at 10h00 & 14h00 each day.
