Meeting South Africans

Our Unforgettable Experiences pages are written by Tribes clients. They tell us in their own words what they really felt about the things they did and places and people they met on their holidays with Tribes. Hopefully this will help you when it comes to trying to decide where to go and what to do.

We'd like to thank everyone who takes the trouble to write one of these Experience reviews for us. This is a new part of our website since February 2010, and we hope they will be added to quickly over the coming months.

  3. We really valued having planned a trip which included experiences of black South Africa and Lesotho alongside the standard sea and safari destinations and met other tourists who realised that they probably could have done so too but it hadn't been suggested to them.

  3. The holiday made us more aware of social problems (overcoming apartheid) that SA is coming to grips with. We got a better understanding from the black africans that we talked to, about their struggle to get decent jobs and the inequality that still is somewhat present.

  3. Our memories of South Africa will be of the many friendly local people we met, the hospitality of the lcoal people, the sheer size of the area we visited. Visiting the townships in Port Elizabeth was exciting and eye-opening - much is being done to improve the future opportunities of the local Tribes and we were left with the impression that the future is bright.
