The Sands at St Francis enjoys a wonderful beachfront location and commands sweeping views of the ocean from guest rooms and public areas. The attractive homestead with its white walls and thatched roof has been sympathetically renovated and the guest rooms are spacious and all have a private deck to make the most of the fabulous sea views. In-room facilities include air conditioning, minibar, tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer, TV and safe. All have ensuite bathroom with jacuzzi bath and separate shower. Some rooms also have an outside shower and jacuzzi on the deck.
During the day guests can opt to stay at the hotel, relaxing by the pool on the timber decks, chilling out in the jacuzzi, using the steam room or having massage or beauty treatments (on request). Alternatively, guests may opt to stroll along the beach, walk along country coast trails, visit the nearby lighthouse or take a port tour in St Francis. Other activities available in the vicinity include deep sea fishing, horse riding, golf and tennis. Port Elizabeth and the malaria-free game reserves of the Eastern Cape are within an hours' drive.
Meals are served in the distinctive octagonal thatched dining room, with huge glass windows and panoramic views. Guests can also dine al fresco on the surrounding deck. The Sands provides a generous daily breakfast. light lunches and fine gournet dinners complemented by a selection of wines. The centrepeice of the dining room is the fireplace and cocktail bar, serving a range of drinks as well as cocktails.
