    About Nottens Bush Camp

    • Close Panel

Personally run by the Notten Family, this is a home from home with great attention to detail, great game viewing and fine dining.

A typical day here starts with an early wake up call (5.30) and watch the sun rise with a cup of tea or coffee. Then enjoy a game drive in an open 4WD vehicle with an experienced guide and a local Shangaan tracker. A morning snack and coffee is provided in the bush then back to the lodge for a hearty cooked 'brunch' on the deck.  Then either take a game walk with a ranger or relax by the pool.

High tea (consisting of a huge variety of home cooked quiches, cakes, breads and muffins) is served on the deck mid afternoon before a late game drive. As the sun starts to set you stop for a drink and watch the stars come out.  Back at the lodge, a full dinner is served, again a huge variety of sumptuous, home cooked food, you certainly won't be hungry or loose weight staying at Nottens!

Ther are seven open plan bedrooms with en-suite bathroom.  Four of the suites have both indoor and outdoor shower facilities.  The rooms are fitted with windows and sliding doors are fitted with screens and insect coils are provided.  Each suite leads onto a private wooden deck with a beautiful view of the bush. Parafin lamps and candles light the rooms with great atmosphere and overhead fans provide a cooling breeze.

The Nature Spa focuses on therapeutic massage, giving guests the opportunity to relax, refresh and rejuvenate through receiving full body treatments in a relaxing settings. Notten’s offers a very unique and highly effective massage known as Ka Huna. This type of massage is a healing treatment with the potential to enhance ones wellbeing on all levels mind, body and soul. The therapist learns to read the body, intuitively going to areas which are most needed, focusing on encouraging the body to release tension.

Notten’s Bush Camp has a sub-tropical climate with a summer rainfall. September - March temperatures can reach 40C but a winter maximum of 20C feeling much cooler.

    Pricing guidelines for South Africa

    • Open Panel

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £600 to £800 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). South Africa combines well with Botswana, Mauritius and Mozambique.

For a specific personal quote based on any tailor made itinerary you have in mind, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help you.
