About Ngala Tented Camp

  • Close Panel

Ngala Tented Camp is an intimate camp of just six spacious tented suites set on the banks of the Timbavati River in the private Ngala Game Reserve. The accommodation is comfortable and each tent features an ensuite bathroom and outdoor shower. Tents are set on raised platforms and have secluded wooden decks. General facilities include a small pool and game viewing decks, where sundowners can be enjoyed whilst looking out over the river. Guests can meet and chat over the day's activites in the central lounge and dining areas overlooking the riverbed. The cuisine here is Pan African, blending traditional and ethnic cooking methods and using flavoursome local ingredients.

Activities include twice-daily game drives and guided bushwalks, providing the opportunity to see the diverse wildlife abundant in this game rich area, including The Big 5. In addition the camp has a small hide near a waterhole allowing guests to view game at close quarters without even venturing outside the camp.

Ngala was the first Private Game Reserve to be incorported into the Kruger National Park and was set up as a conservation initiative.

Pricing guidelines for South Africa

  • Open Panel

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £600 to £800 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). South Africa combines well with Botswana, Mauritius and Mozambique.

For each accommodation on this website you will find an indication of the price. The bands are based on the price per person per night at peak season and are represented by the following values for this country:

  £50 to £100
