About Naries Namaqua Retreat

  • Close Panel

A gorgeous lodge centred around a Manor House with some rooms in the house and others in mountain suites or the 'power house'.

Naries is located in the heart of Namaqualand - famous for the spring flower blooms but a fascinating location all year to explore the many sights of the area, out to the Atlantic coast, inland to the hills or locally around the hiking and biking trails or historical and geological sites.

The main house is traditional Cape Dutch in design and houses a superb restaurant. Most stays here are on half board, though self catering is an option in the Power House self catering unit.

The five manor house rooms are ensuite with bath and or a shower. There is a central coffee station in the house and all rooms have heaters and electric blankets, all are non-smoking. They are spacious rooms but have limited views as they are central to the house and gardens. They are close to the swimming pool. Three of these rooms are wheelchair friendly.

There are three mountain suites about 1km from the main house - these are superb retreats under thatch with cave like rooms and wooden decks to enjoy the sunsets. Each suite has tea and coffee making facilities and a mini bar and meals are served in the main house dining room. Perfect romatic retreats, this is something very special and unusual!

The power house has two standard rooms which are not as luxurious as the Manor House or Mountain Suites.

Note that children under 12 years are only allowed in the self catering unit.

Pricing guidelines for South Africa

  • Open Panel

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £600 to £800 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). South Africa combines well with Botswana, Mauritius and Mozambique.

For each accommodation on this website you will find an indication of the price. The bands are based on the price per person per night at peak season and are represented by the following values for this country:
