About Mosselberg on Grotto Beach

  • Close Panel

Mosselberg on Grotto Beach is a lovely guesthouse offering excellent accommodation in the charming beachside town and port of Hermanus. Situated on Grotto Beach the guesthouse has views of the magnificent Mosselberg mountains and of Walker Bay. From June to November it is possible to see Southern Right Whales from the guesthouse.

The guest rooms are superbly equipped, with features including underfloor heating, heated towel rails, fans, TV, 'phone, minibar and tea and coffee making facilities. Rooms have either sea or mountain views and all have a sea-facing balcony. All rooms have ensuite bathroom with bath, shower and twin hand basins. Each room has its own entrance. The honeymoon suite has magnificent views of the bay.

Mosselberg serves a daily breakfast consisting of both continental and cooked English meals. Both lunch and dinner can be provided on request, although Hermanus has a range of restaurants. Guest facilities include a courtesy bar, private lounge with fireplace, free internet access, a games room and an attractive garden. Designed by an award-winning architect, there is also a swimming pool and huge deck on the sea side of the property. There are both sunny and shaded areas where guests can relax. Breakfast is usually served on the deck by the pool.

There are plenty of activities in the area including walking along the beach or clifftop paths, visiting various wine farms in the locality, horse riding, cycling, golf and diving. Fernkloof Nature Reserve is also nearby, with its fynbos flora and rich animal and bird life. Hermanus has a great collection of shops, boutiques, art galleries and craft markets. It remains a working fishing port and visitors can see the catches being unloaded at the harbour. There is also a small museum in the Old Harbour area.

Pricing guidelines for South Africa

  • Open Panel

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £600 to £800 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). South Africa combines well with Botswana, Mauritius and Mozambique.

For each accommodation on this website you will find an indication of the price. The bands are based on the price per person per night at peak season and are represented by the following values for this country:
£

  £50 to £100

  £100 to £200

  £200 to £300
