    About Leeuwenbosch

    • Close Panel

The two lodges at Leeuwenbosch have an interesting history from the days of the early settlers. William Folds who was originally from Keighley in Yorkshire travelled to Africa by boat and into the interior by ox wagon with his young wife Sarah Green in 1857. Arriving in the Addo area he found employment as a wagon builder. Their eldest son bought Leeuwenbosch farm in 1873 and it has been handed down through the generations of the Folds family ever since - the fifth generation are currently residing there and host you as their guests in the two lodges.

    Leeuwenbosch Country House

This 4 star lodge is an historical colonial manor house built in 1908 with spacious and comfortable country living. There are  four en-suite bedrooms which include two luxury suites, and the lodge sits in beautiful indigenous gardens and is an ideal base for game viewing and relaxation.

    Shearers Lodge

The Folds family started wool farming in 1926 at Leeuwenbosch and what is now the Shearers Lodge was the sheep shearing shed! When the farm was converted to a game reserve in 1996 was converted to the present day luxury lodge house. The rooms are all luxuriously appointed consisting of 3 twin rooms and a honeymoon suite.

    Pricing guidelines for South Africa

    • Open Panel

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £600 to £800 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). South Africa combines well with Botswana, Mauritius and Mozambique.

For a specific personal quote based on any tailor made itinerary you have in mind, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help you.
