About Lalibela Game Reserve

  • Close Panel

Lalibela Private Game Reserve is in the Eastern Cape, a big 5 reserve in a malaria free zone which supports a variety of eco-systems and hence a wide range of natural history.

There are no public roads running through the property and all the wildlife is free to roam where it wishes in the 7,500 hectares. Excellent accommodation, guiding and food provide a fantastic location for your safari in the Eastern Cape of South Africa. Game drives are included with experienced guides who will show you the huge variety of wildlife. As well as the big 5 Lalibela is home to African Wild Dog, Cheetah, Giraffe, Zebra, Hippo, Hyaena and many others.

Each of the three lodges is of the same high standard and offers luxury accommodation with fantastic fresh food, smiling service and all locations have a pool.

Mark's Camp accepts children of all ages and has an excellent programme of childrens activities. Children under 8 have their own game drives and there is a child minding service. The camp caters for 20 guests in a mix of double and family rooms, all stone and thatch in design. The chalets open onto large decks where you can enjoy the view, or relax at the swimming pool. There is a large lounge and dining area and meals are usually taken outside and by the camp fire at night.

Lentaba Lodge is set in the hillside with amazing views, each of the eight rooms having its own viewing deck and blending well into the bush. Each chalet has air conditining and ceiling fans and there is a large central lounge area and dining boma with a great view of a waterhole which is spotlit after dark. Brunch is served outside on the main viewing deck.

Tree Tops is a luxury tented camp with the rooms on platforms at tree top level with views over the woodland and links by walkways. The rooms have huge windows and are air conditioned and each has a viewing deck. There is a large open lounge and dining area overlooking a waterhole. There are just 5 rooms here and they have been built to minimise impact on the vegetation.

Pricing guidelines for South Africa

  • Open Panel

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £600 to £800 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). South Africa combines well with Botswana, Mauritius and Mozambique.

For each accommodation on this website you will find an indication of the price. The bands are based on the price per person per night at peak season and are represented by the following values for this country:

  £50 to £100

  £100 to £200
