Lairds Lodge has 2 lounges, the Brandy and the TV lounge, both with fireplaces for cooler evenings. There are regular brandy and wine tasting sessions in the Brandy Lounge in the evening. The restaurant serves generous breakfasts and a la carte dinners, specialising in seafood and venison and is well known for its South African gourmet meals. There is an excellent range of wines to accompany meals.

The lodge is located between Plettenberg Bay (8kms) and Knysna (23kims), ideally positioned for exploring the Garden Route. There are unspolit beaches on the doorstep, while further afield there are hiking opportunities and visits to local nature reserves can be arranged. The friendly staff are happy to assist with suggestions for activities, maps and general information. Lairds Lodge welscomes guests of all ages, including children and family groups.

Pricing guidelines for South Africa

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £600 to £800 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). South Africa combines well with Botswana, Mauritius and Mozambique.

For each accommodation on this website you will find an indication of the price. The bands are based on the price per person per night at peak season and are represented by the following values for this country:
£

  £50 to £100

  £100 to £200

This is a beautiful country house set in lovely gardens just off N2, 5 minutes from Knysna. I really liked it here. The staff are fantastic! It feels like a proper country house. The rooms have a contemporary modern feel to them, but with subtle hints to remind guests that they are in South Africa.
