    About La Petite Ferme

    • Close Panel

La Petite Ferme is a gorgeous five star luxury guest house and winery near Franschhoek in the Western Cape winelands. Situated just off the scenic Franschhoek Pass there are gorgeous views across the hills and valleys from the farm.

Five secluded guest suites are set amongst the maze of garden paths and each has it's own plunge pool. The rooms are stylishly appointed with comfort a priority. There are three luxury suites and two slightly larger vista suite and deluxe suite. The suites all only sleep two people and no children are allowed.

There are also Lakeside Lodges high on the side of the mountain which are in a beautiful setting overlooking a trout filled lake and the pretty village of Franschhoek.  They can sleep 4 people and can be hired on a B&B or self catering basis.  Children are accepted here.

La Petite Ferme Restaurant is legendary and has had an excellent reputation built over three generations of the family. It has been voted a 'top ten restaurant' by Wine Magazine. Dining takes place either indoors where stunning views are enjoyed through the glass while you are warmed by open fires and under floor heating (it's cold in the winter!), or in the summer days outside in the lush gardens.  The cuisine is created by the chefs in a fusion of African, Malay and international styles.

The wine farm is situated on the Middagkrans Mountain and is west facing. It is home to a variety of soil types and the farm grafts it's own root stocks. The climate in the Western Cape is similar to the Mediterranean with dry hot summers and winter rain, but without the frosts of Europe. Sauvignon Blanc has become the farm's most popular product from it's Baboon Rock wine range.

Many activities are available in the area including wine tasting on horseback, mountain biking, chocolate tasting at the Huguenot Chocolate Factory, Bread making course at "Bread & Wine", "Kuns Rondvaart" the "Franschhoek Meander" crafts & antiques route, Goats, goat's cheese and wine at Fair View, Huguenot Monument and Museum, Cellar Tour at La Petite Ferme or Mont Rochelle Mountain Vineyards, Schnapps and Grappa tasting at Chamonix, Bowls on the Franschhoek Bowling Green, Paragliding from the Franschhoek Pass, Boules in the village.

    Pricing guidelines for South Africa

    • Open Panel

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £600 to £800 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). South Africa combines well with Botswana, Mauritius and Mozambique.

For a specific personal quote based on any tailor made itinerary you have in mind, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help you.
