    About Hilltop Camp

    • Close Panel

Hilltop Camp is the oldest safari camp in KwaZulu-Natal which was extensively re-built in the nineties. There are around 70 rooms all spread out over the hillside in various formations ranging from 2 to 8 beds. There is a swimming pool and deck area with sweeping views over the valley.

There is a short self guided trail in the grounds of the camp (the camp is fenced, though wild animals may still be in the area - zebra regularly walk around the rooms!)  Two hour guided walks can be booked at reception, as can morning or sunset game drives with a local knowledgeable guide. There are several picnic and barbeque sites within the park.

The bar is open between 10:00 - 22:30 and the restaurant serves breakfasts, lunches and dinners at set times, dinners are buffet style.

One of the largest parks in South Africa, Hluhluwe-iMfolozi is home to the 'big five' plus the elusive cheetah, wild dogs and many other species. It covers 96000 hectares made up of three reserves, Hluhluwe, iMfolozi and the linking Corridor Reserve. These were founded back in 1889 and 1895.

    Pricing guidelines for South Africa

    • Open Panel

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £600 to £800 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). South Africa combines well with Botswana, Mauritius and Mozambique.

For a specific personal quote based on any tailor made itinerary you have in mind, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help you.
