Gomo Gomo Game Lodge is a small camp situated on the banks of the Nhlaralumi River in the prestigious Timbavati Game Reserve, bordering Kruger National Park. Since there is no fence between Timbavati Game Reserve and Kruger National Park, the animals have free range and guests here have ample opportunities to see the Big Five and everything else. The lodge is shaded by gnarled jackalberry and weeping boerbean trees and offers accommodation in 5 thatched bungalows built in traditional style, and 4 East African style large tented rooms on platforms. All have en-suite facilities. There is also a spacious honeymoon suite. After dark, paraffin lamps create a romantic atmosphere, enhanced by the sounds of the wild. Breakfast and lunch are served on the deck in an open thatch-roofed lapa overlooking the river, while dinner is served traditional African Style around a log fire in one of the two bomas. Guests can relax on the shaded deck and cool off in the plunge pool.
Gomo Gomo Game Lodge allows access to over 12,000 hectares of the finest big game country. Lion, leopard, elephant and buffalo thrive alongside giraffe, zebra and a variety of antelope. Game drives, in open 4x4 vehicles led by experienced ranges, allow guests to view this rich variety of wildlife. Bird watching is also a popular pasttime here, with various eagles, owls, francolins and kingfishers among the over 300 recorded bird species.
