    About d'Ouwe Werf Hotel

    • Close Panel

d'Ouwe Werf is South Africa's oldest hotel, established in 1802. The grand history of the building has been effectively modernised to give every modern luxury but retaining it's old world Georgian charm.

The hotel is ideally situated in Stellenbosch, the heart of the Cape Winelands. It is in a quiet street with easy access to the wine cellars and scenic drives of the region. It is within walking distance of Stellenbosch's historical attractions.

The famous 1802 restaurant seats 75 people and is renowned for it's cuisine and of course an excellent wine list! We advise booking tables for dinner during your stay. Teas and light meals can also be enjoyed on the shady courtyard.  There are lovely gardens and a heated swimming pool.

There are 32 rooms of different standards.  All have air conditioning, bath and shower with bath robe, hairdryer, mineral water, tea and coffee facilities, DSTV, safe, wi-fi and all rooms are non-smoking.

Wine tours, balloon trips, bicycle hire and other excursions can be booked from the hotel.

    Pricing guidelines for South Africa

    • Open Panel

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £600 to £800 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). South Africa combines well with Botswana, Mauritius and Mozambique.

For a specific personal quote based on any tailor made itinerary you have in mind, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help you.
