Bushmans River Lodge is a carefully restored Victorian homestead set in the 25,000 acre private Shamwari Game Reserve, known for its varied eco systems supporting numerous species of game and birdlife. There are just 4 luxury ensuite rooms, all with air conditioning. The thatched boma is an ideal spot in which to unwind while enjoying a cocktail and taking in the sights and sounds of the Bushmans River valley. Meals can be enjoyed in the dining room or al fresco. In the lounge guests can take advantage of an open fire. During the heat of the day the plunge pool is the perfect place to cool off. Activities available from the lodge include morning and evening game drives in open 4x4 vehicles and walking safaris accompanied by experienced rangers.

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £600 to £800 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). South Africa combines well with Botswana, Mauritius and Mozambique.
