About Abalone Lodge

  • Close Panel

Abalone Lodge is a development of individual log cabins in Knynsa. The log cabins are newly-built, upmarket units with a beautiful view over the Knysna Lagoon and the famous Knysna Heads. Only 5 minutes away from the centre of town and 4 minutes to the Leisure Isle beach, they offer guests a convenient location. Although the accommodation is self-catering, continental breakfasts can be delivered to the room at the guests' request. There are 12 units available for individual or group reservations comprising 9 double log cabins, 3 double-storey wooden lodges and 3 VIP houses consisting of 1 double-storey lodge and 2 double log cabins (interleading). There is also a swimming pool for guests to use. The spacious cabins all have their own baconies with views across the lagoon. All have en-suite bathrooms with spa baths. They all have televisions and mini kitchen and braai facilities.

There are lots of activities available in the area, including watersports, canoeing, boat cruises, horse-riding, hiking, mountain biking and abseiling. Alternatively guests can relax in and around the lodge's own swimming pool.

Nearby, Abalone Lodges also have chalets at Brenton-on-Sea. There are double log cabins, a honeymoon suite and a large VIP House. This accommodation is perfect for a beach holiday with the sand just a few steps from your door. Brenton-on-Sea is just along the coast from Knysna in a beautiful area of long wind swept coastline.

Pricing guidelines for South Africa

  • Open Panel

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £600 to £800 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). South Africa combines well with Botswana, Mauritius and Mozambique.

For each accommodation on this website you will find an indication of the price. The bands are based on the price per person per night at peak season and are represented by the following values for this country:
£

  £50 to £100

  £100 to £200

  £200 to £300
