About Mountain Gorillas Nest

  • Close Panel

This is a basic but comfortable and friendly lodge, ideally located for trekking the gorillas close to the park gate.

Mountain Gorillas Nest is located 2 kms west of the Kinigi Park Headquarters. The lodge is in a lovely rural setting and ideally situated to the park headquarters for the gorilla treks and registration. There is no electricity in Kinigi, so the lodge operates a generator. Each room is built alongside green lawns in a semi-circle of 20 double rooms & 2 suites. The rooms all look outwards into the Eucalyptus forest, pyrethrum farms and shambas (farms) beyond.

The Lodge is well constructed, but basic with grass thatched roofs in traditional Rwandese style. Nearby is a traditional Rwandese homestead for visitors to visit in their leisure time or after Gorilla trekking.

There is a golf course in the grounds and a club house where drinks and snacks are served.

Pricing guidelines for Rwanda

  • Open Panel

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £600 to £800 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). Rwanda combines well with Uganda or the East African coast. Please note that gorillas permits add on about US$500 per visit. We charge these to you at the time of booking.

For a specific personal quote based on any tailor made itinerary you have in mind, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help you.
