  1. Chan Chan

    Chan Chan is located to the northern town of Trujillo and was the capital of the Chimor, or Chimu, Empire and is the largest mud-brick settlement in the Americas.

  2. Kuelap

    The fortress of Kuelap is one of the most outstanding archaeological remains of the little-known Chachapoyas culture.

  3. Machu Picchu

    Machu Picchu, the famous lost city of the Incas, is one of the most evocative places in Peru. It is perched on a mountain ridge 600m above the Urubamba River which winds spectacularly through the valley below.

  4. Nazca Lines

    The Nazca Lines have been cut into the sand by pre-Columbian cultures who settled in the area from around 900 BC until 600 AD.

  5. Ollantaytambo

    Wonderful town in the Sacred Valley of the Incas which still has the original Inca layout.

  6. Sacsayhuaman

    Sacsayhuaman is perched on a hill overlooking Cusco. Its giant boulders are placed to resemble a jaguar with an open mouth.
