Is it for you?

This is a moderately challenging trek. You will need to carry a small backpack with your requirements for the day, but porters will carry the rest of your gear. You need to be relatively fit to cope with the trek bearing in mind the altitude you will be at (as high as about 4200m). We strongly recommend that you spend 2 days in Cusco before the trek to acclimatise.

Comments

We did many, many exciting things but the highlight was the Inca Trail. It was hard work at altitude and physically demanding. The views looking over the mountain passes above the clouds were out of this world. It was worth being so tired at night. To finish the Inca Trail by walking to Machu Picchu at sunrise was awesome. The both of us will never forget that moment.
