Towns and cities

  1. Aguas Calientes

Aguas Calientes is located alongside the Urubamba River in Peru and is the closet town to the Inca ruins of Machu Picchu.

  2. Arequipa

Founded in 1540, Arequipa is Peru's second city and is known as the “White City” because many of its buildings are constructed of the smooth white stone from volcanic lava quarries.

  3. Cusco

Cusco, in the heart of the Andes, is South America’s oldest continuously inhabited city. Once the capital of the mighty Inca Empire, Cusco is now a lively colourful city with beautiful colonial churches, monasteries and convents, as well as extensive Inca ruins both within the city and in the surrounding countryside.

  4. Lima

The Historic centre of Lima, located in downtown Lima and the Rímac District, was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988 due to the large number of historical buildings dating from the Spanish colonial era.

  5. Pisac

Písac is located in the Sacred Valley of the Incas on the Urubamba River.
