    About Sumaq Hotel

    • Close Panel

Opened in 2007, the 60 room Sumaq Hotel offers the most luxurious accommodation close to Machu Picchu. Located a few minutes walk from the train station in Machu Picchu Town (formerly called Aguas Calientes) on the road to the ruins, the hotel overlooks the fast-flowing Urubamba River with many rooms having excellent views.

All rooms are equipped with the facilities you would expect from a modern luxury hotel, including cable TV and wi-fi internet access, with the largest rooms having fireplaces, balconies and private jacuzzis. The restaurant serves exquisite Andean fusion cuisine while there is a café-bar and an Andean spa to relax after a day exploring the ruins.

The service here is extremely efficient and the staff will look after you from the moment you arrive in Machu Picchu Town until you board the train back to Cusco.

    Pricing guidelines for Peru

    • Open Panel

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £750 to £1000 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). Peru combines very well with Ecuador (including the Galapagos Island), but can also be linked with Brazil.

For a specific personal quote based on any tailor made itinerary you have in mind, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help you.
