    About Sol y Luna Hotel

    • Close Panel
The beautiful hotel of Sol y Luna is located just half a mile from the town of Urubamba in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. It provides a perfect base to explore the valley, and because it is a few hundred metres lower than Cusco allows a more gradual acclimatisation to the altitude.

Built from local materials, Sol y Luna's 28 bungalows are made up of 23 doubles, 3 family bungalows and 2 suites, all set within a colourful garden. All bungalows are ensuite and have king-size beds and private verandas. The family bungalows are two-floor bungalows with a king-size bed on the ground floor and two double beds on the second floor. Suites are two-floor bungalows with a king-size bed on the ground floor and a living room on the second floor. They also have TVs and DVD players. The Killa Wasi Restaurant features Novo Andino cuisine, a distinctive blend of Andean, coastal and international flavours. Chef’s specialities include sautéed slices of Alpaca in a coconut curry, and shrimp-stuffed trout. The Chicha Wasi pub above the restaurant features a full international bar.

Additional hotel facilities include an outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts, gift shop and Yacu Wasi spa. The spa contains a fully-equipped gym, sauna, steamroom, jacuzzi, and Spanish bath. A wide selection of spa therapies are offered including facials, wraps and masks, along with newer treatments such as music therapy, and energy therapies such as Reiki. Massages include traditional Swedish massage, shiatsu, aromatherapy and reflexology massages. Classes or personal sessions in yoga and tai chi are also available.

Most visitors spend 2 or 3 nights at Sol y Luna and visit Ollantaytambo Inca town and ruins, and Pisac market.  However, for those wanting to spend longer at the hotel, a range of activities are offered including horse riding, trekking, rafting and mountain biking.

    Pricing guidelines for Peru

    • Open Panel

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £750 to £1000 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). Peru combines very well with Ecuador (including the Galapagos Island), but can also be linked with Brazil.

For a specific personal quote based on any tailor made itinerary you have in mind, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help you.

    • Example tripPrice per person
    • 2 weeks highlights of Peru using good quality accommodationBetween £2200 and £3000
    • 2 week holiday based in top end hotelsFrom around £4000+
    • 9 day trip, such as Cusco & the Inca TrailBetween £1300 and £1600
    • 18 days Peru & Galapagos (this can be very variable due to Galapagos yacht prices)Between £3750 and £6500
