Perched on a forested ridge overlooking a sea of grassland, the Reu river and hills and mountains beyond, Tiger Tops Tented Camp is the ideal place to get away from the modern world and enjoy the beautiful surroundings and amazing wildlife. The twelve rooms provide comfortable if simple accommodation, all housed under a thatched roof with an attached banboo bathroom with toilet, hand basin and shower supplied with plenty of hot water.
The thatched central Gol Ghar houses the restaurant, fireplace and bar. Meals are based on locally sourced fresh, organic produce and both Western and Nepali dishes are served. Free snacks are provided each evening before dinner when guests gather for drinks and to chat over the day's events. There is also a small library with light reading and reference material.
From the viewing platform in front of the restaurant, or from the hammock in front of your tent, you can watch the wildlife of the grasslands in comfort. The Asian one-horned rhino is the most impressive sight that is commonly seen grazing on the grasslands, but the region also attracts Indian Bison as well as deer.
The tented camp has its own stable of elephants for safaris in the riverine forest and grasslands around the camp. Game drives, riverboat safaris and walking safaris can be arranged from the camp. The guides are expertly trained.
The tented camp is just half an hour's drive from Tiger Tops Jungle Lodge, so the two resorts can easily be combined in a stay at Chitwan.
