About Gaida Wildlife Camp

  • Close Panel

Gaida is Nepali for Rhino, and Gadia Wildlife Camp borders the Rhino Zone where the Asian One-Horned Rhino can easily be spotted. The lodge overlooks the Dungre River, and many mammals and birds can be spotted from along the river.

A total of thirty-two bungalows are built in a semi circle around a central building which houses the restaurant. Each bungalow has a balcony with a sweeping view of the river and grassland and are fitted with toilets and solar powered showers. An outdoor garden and a well stocked bar provide a very comfortable atmosphere to stretch out and enjoy the surrounding jungle.

Electricity is availability for a few hours each day, powering dehumidifiers in the room when the weather is warm, with hot water bottles provided on cooler nights. At night, the camp is lit by kerosene lamps and on clear nights meals may be cooked on a barbeque under the stars. Local Tharu dancers perform several times a week, and there is the opportunity to visit nearby Tharu villages.

The lodge has is own stable of elephants, and activities available include canoe trips, walking safaris and jeep safaris, as well as the popular elephant safaris. Elephant shows are arranged every day, and in warm weather you may have the opportunity to bathe the elephants in the river.

Pricing guidelines for Nepal

  • Open Panel

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £750 to £1100 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). Nepal combines well with India.

For a specific personal quote based on any tailor made itinerary you have in mind, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help you.
