About Dwarika's Himalayan Shangri-La Dulikhel

  • Close Panel

Located on a hill above Dulihkel, Dwarika's Himalayan Shangri-La Village Resorts offers panoramic views of the mountains in a peaceful location just a short drive from Kathmandu. Run by the same group as the luxurious Dwarika's in Kathmandu, this mountain resort offers a high quality of accommodation and service.

The 16 rooms are built in a traditional Newari or Gurung style, and all a bright and spacious, featuring large bathrooms and picture windows with amazing views. At the heart of the resort the Himalayan Restaurant offers fine meals, while the Shangri-La Bar provides drinks and traditional music. The resort spawls over a wide area and has been built in harmony with the landscape. It is a steep climb from the main road up to the restaurant, and can be an even steeper hike up to your rooms, so this is not a place for the lazy, but the reward as you climb the hill is the amazing views that open up before you. There are several excellent short walks that start from the grounds of the hotels, with longer hikes leading through the attractive small town of Dulikhel and the nearby villages. Mountain bikes are also available to hire from the resort.

The rooms at Dwarika's Himalayan Shangri-La are not equipped with TVs or radios, and you are encouraged to spend your time here exploring the great outdoors. This is not the place to come if you want to lie by a pool and enjoy room service, but if you want to enjoy a peaceful location and a comfortable base fort exploring a beautiful region, it is an ideal spot.

Pricing guidelines for Nepal

  • Open Panel

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £750 to £1100 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). Nepal combines well with India.

For a specific personal quote based on any tailor made itinerary you have in mind, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help you.
