Nampula is the administrative business centre for the north of Mozambique and has many buisness flights and hotels.
Around the city are some interesting markets, shops and the National Ethnographic Museum. Nampula is Mozambique's third largest city after Maputo and Beira.
There are a few waterfront restaurants and bars with great atmosphere and views.
The lovely new coastal lodge, Nuarro, is accessed from Nampula and you can use this as a connection point from southern Mozambique or Gorongosa National Park.
