About Pambele

  • Close Panel

Pambele is located in the private Vilanculos Coastal Wildlife Sanctuary on the San Sebastian Peninsula. This is a wonderfully unspoilt setting with miles of sandy beaches, tidal sand flats, forested dunes and mangrove swamps. Pambele is designed to blend into this environment and offers guests the chance to do as much or as little as they like, amking the most of their glorious surroundings.

There is accommodation for up to 10 adults and 4 children, so privacy and seclusion are assured. All guest villas are set on the beachfront and spaced well apart. There are indoor and outdoor living areas at the lodge, wide wooden decks and an infinity pool with views over the sparkling ocean. Food is a highlight. Fresh and local ingredients include a variety of seafood, meats, vegetables and plentiful fruit. Amongst the specialities are homemade bread and cakes, homemade pasta, ice creams and salads. The staff are happy to arrange picnics and romantic dinners on the beach on request.

There is a wide range of water-based activities. Being near the Bazaruto Archipelago Marine National Park with its beautiful coral reefs there is excellent diving and snorkelling. Big game fishing, kayaking, island hopping trips on the lodge's own catamaran and dhow cruises can also be enjoyed here. Whale watching is possible between July and November. Inland, guests can travel to local schools and villages and conservation projects. 4x4 trips can be arranged to view the local flora and fauna. This is an area known for its diverse wildlife including some 350 species of birds.

Pricing guidelines for Mozambique

  • Open Panel

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £700 to £900 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). Return flights from Joburg to Pemba (in northern Mozambique) will add on roughly £400. Mozambique combines well with South Africa, Malawi and southern Tanzania.

For each accommodation on this website you will find an indication of the price. The bands are based on the price per person per night at peak season and are represented by the following values for this country:

  £50 to £150
