About Ponta Mamoli

  • Close Panel

Ponta Mamoli lies just over the South African border and is a peaceful location, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the ocean views. Accommodation is in 15 timber frame chalets, all sea facing, 3 of which are ideal for family groups. These are offered on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis. There are also 2 lake facing chalets which can each accommodate up to 2 adults and 2 children and are offered on a self catering basis.

Facilities include an open air restaurant specialising in Portuguese cuisine. There is also a bar and a separate boma area with bonfire. The swimming pool is set on a raised deck with views across the beach. There are sunloungers and deck chairs for guest use.

There is a range of activities available here. The hotel has its own PADI dive centre and this area has some great dive locations. Snorkelling can also be arranged and there are some beautiful coral reefs to be explored. Dolphin and whale (seasonal) spotting trips are available nearby. Horse riding is popular, with inland trails and beach gallops on offer. Guided bird and beach walks are also possible. Game drives take guests to Lake Piti, where they may see hippos, crocodiles and elephants. In addition 4x4 excursions along coastal trails and open wetlands and full day trips to Maputo Elephant Reserve can be arranged.

Pricing guidelines for Mozambique

  • Open Panel

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £700 to £900 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). Return flights from Joburg to Pemba (in northern Mozambique) will add on roughly £400. Mozambique combines well with South Africa, Malawi and southern Tanzania.

For each accommodation on this website you will find an indication of the price. The bands are based on the price per person per night at peak season and are represented by the following values for this country:

  £50 to £150
