Benguerra Lodge

If you want to combine the sights of South Africa with a tropical island holiday, Benguerra Island in Mozambique is set in the clear waters of the Indian Ocean, easily accessed with daily flights from Johannesburg.

The region has a long history as a trading route –the national language is Portuguese, and the traditional boats used by fishermen bear a striking resemblance to Arab dhows. Benguerra Lodge has chalets and an East African style villa, and runs deep sea fishing and diving trips.
