About Villa Mandarine

  • Close Panel

Villa Mandarine is a guest house in the smart embassy district of Rabat, near the city centre. Formerly a family home, it has been thoughtfully converted, retaining many period features and offers refined country house living. The 30 rooms and 6 suites are well equipped with air conditioning, TV, phone, minibar and private terrace or balcony overlooking the lush gardens. Rooms in the main house are reached via the elegant green and white tiled staircase and overlook the main courtyard with its rose bushes and fountain. There are also some bungalow-style rooms in the grounds which all have their own private gardens. All are individually decorated.

The main building also houses the comfortable living room, billiards room, library and inviting African themed bar. Every room has views of the gardens and throughout the house there are French windows leading guests out into grounds. There are bougainvillea-covered terraces where guests can relax and admire views of the gardens with their orange groves, plentiful flowers, lawns and palms, a veritable haven of tranquility. The hotel has a large heated swimming pool, surrounded by a terrace with sun loungers. There is also a paddling pool for children. The on-site spa offers massage, sauna, hot tub, traditional hamman and a gym.

Breakfast can be taken outside on the restarant's terrace. Lunches can also be eaten al fresco or in the restaurant, which serves a mixture of European and typically Moroccan dishes. Local, freshly caught seafood often features on the menu. Supervised by a Michelin-starred chef, the restaurant has an excellent reputation and meals are sure to be a highlight of any stay here.

Rabat's city centre is within easy reach and attractions include the old walled city with its souks, the narrow streets of the medina, with its whitewashed houses and the imposing Kasbah of the Oudayas. There are also beaches where swimming and surfing can be enjoyed. Other local activities include horse riding, tennis and golf, with the prestigious Dar es Salaam golf course just a stone's throw from the hotel.

Pricing guidelines for Morocco

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £200 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). We offer flights with Royal Air Maroc which has daily flights to Marrakech as well as good connections to other cities.

For a specific personal quote based on any tailor made itinerary you have in mind, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help you.
