About Sahara Desert Camp

  • Close Panel

Sahara Desert Camp is the perfect escape from the busy cities of Morocco. This is a luxury camp set amidst spectacular sand dunes south east of the village of Merzouga, where guests can enjoy the tranquility of the desert and enjoy some of the best sunrises and sunsets they will ever see.

Accommodation is in twelve individual tents sumptuously decorated in rich, colourful Berber textiles. Each tent has its own bathroom tent, complete with shower, hand basin and toilet. The camp has hot and cold running water. Electricity is supplied by a small generator located away from the main camp area.

There is a large restaurant tent, although most meals are enjoyed outside. Dinner is usually taken by candlelight, beneath the stars. Meals are based on traditional local dishes and are freshly prepared by the chef. After dinner guests gather around the camp fire to exchange stories or enjoy local musicians and entertainers.

During the day guests can venture into the desert and climb the sand dunes. The camp is set well away from tourist areas, so guests won't encounter any crowds.

Pricing guidelines for Morocco

We hope the following will give you a rough idea of costs. These are quoted per person based on twin share for two people, without international flights but including internal flights. We’ve used good standard accommodation throughout. There are nearly always ways to spend more money than we’ve suggested (!), but these prices show a good and realistic range for each type of trip.

International flights will add from about £200 depending on the season and route (unless the airlines have special offers). We offer flights with Royal Air Maroc which has daily flights to Marrakech as well as good connections to other cities.

For each accommodation on this website you will find an indication of the price. The bands are based on the price per person per night at peak season and are represented by the following values for this country:
